Easter Egg Hunt

Our Easter Egg Hunt yesterday was a BLAST!! There were about 10 kids under 5 that went running around looking for the 92 eggs the Easter Bunny left out for them (actually it was Wesley.) In about 3 minutes, all the eggs were in their pails. It was fun to see some of our friends that we haven't seen in a couple of months and of course to see how big the kids have become. 3 years old is really a fun age for these kind of life events. So, I'm sure you want to see some pictures so here you go.

Note to self: Do not let Steve be in charge of taking pictures of life events.

This is the only picture we have from yesterday. I had the video camera.

Thanks for coming everyone! We had a great time.

Easter Bunny..Where are you??

We are having an Easter Egg Hunt at our house tomorrow for our friends 6 and under. We made gift bags for each child and Lynzy couldn't resist them. And I couldn't resist taking a picture. Lynzy is saying CHEESE really loud in this picture. She learned that from Brock and Grandma Langdell who always has her camera ready.

No promises but I plan on taking pics tomorrow and posting them to our blog.

Binky, blankie and Pinky Bear

Brock was not the best sleeper in the world from birth until approximately 2 years old. He did not like a pacifier, did not attach himself to a stuffed animal or blanket and basically attached himself to Steve or me. Mostly to me and my hair. To this day, Brock loves to tug at my hair and tickle his ears/face/arms with it. I always know when he is tired because he wants to snuggle with me and then grab my hair.

I like to think I got smarter when Lynzy came along but it really could just be that she’s smarter than me. Lynzy loves her “binky”, “blankie” and Pinky Bear. They are her staples when it comes to snuggling, driving in the car and sleeping through the night. Here was our dilemma. At the time that she became attached to the green blanket we only had one. On a shopping trip Target, I discovered that they were gone. Ok, let’s try online. No such luck. I started to panic because I knew this was the blanket that would probably take us to kindergarten. Luckily, I have a friend in WA who listened to my problem and promptly found 3 blankets in her Target up north. Problem solved, except we have already lost one blanket and we are down to 3. Now I needed to solve the Pinky Bear issue. Again, the bear was one of a kind. It has Lynzy embroidered on it and the pink bunny pjs come off the bear. Coincidentally, the same friend that rescued us from a blanket catastrophe also gave her this bear when Lynzy was born. So now I’m on a mission to reproduce this bear. Problem is, if I get the exact same bear it would cost me $53 for two of them with embroidering fees and shipping (it's a TY Beanie Bear). No thanks! Onto Amazon, where the bears were $10 each and free shipping. They are not Pinky Bear clones though and I was afraid Lynzy would notice. She has not. Thank goodness.

Here’s the funniest part about the Pinky Bears. By the way, Lynzy says “Pnky Brr.” Prior to receiving the Pinky Bear doubles, I tried to trick her into thinking that Brock’s bear that came in a yellow bunny pj was Pinky Bear without her clothes on. I gave her the naked “Pinky Bear” and she looked at it and asked me, “Mom, who this?” I said, “Pinky Bear.” She looked at me, then the bear and said, “Nooooooo” and has refused to pick up that bear again. She really is a smart girl.

By the way, if you see either the Circo green blanket or a Pinky Bear wannabe, grab it for me and I'll pay you back and for the shipping too. Thanks!

The kids and I went to a friend’s dress up party

Brock was Diego and Lynzy was a ballerina/princess/fancy girl.

Lynzy also likes cupcakes with lots of frosting

What do you think? Am I tired?

I turned 35 this year. Yes, I know. I only look 21 right? I wish. Anyway, I decided that I would be a smart adult and head to the doctor for a physical while I was healthy so that if something went wrong in the future, then we had an idea what I was like healthy. Make sense? So off I go to the same doctor that Steve goes to. This doctor specializes in holistic as well as western medicine treatments. I told her that I thought I was fine considering I have 2 small children to take care of each day. She asked me if I was tired. I replied, “No, I get 8-10 hours of sleep a night and I do much better with 10.” She gave me a look and then proceeded to tell me that I didn’t know it but I was tired. She said that I have dark circles under my eyes and 8 hours of sleep each night is sufficient for someone my age. I also told her that I was sick of getting sick each time my kids were. She prescribed a number of things, mostly vitamins/supplements. So here’s a picture of me shortly after my appointment with her. I’m blogging this to see if I “look” less tired in 4-6 months. Stay tuned.

The kids were sick :(

About two weeks ago, you would have thought we were a hospital. Wesley had walking pneumonia, Brock had a cold with asthma and Lynzy was running a fever. Humidifiers were in all bedrooms and running full blast. It stinks to be a "nurse" without training and little aid available to my kids for their sicknesses.

Wesley stayed home from school one day and was reading books to Brock without me even asking him to. This is what I found about 1/2 hour later. True blue brothers....

Brock picked up his head as I was taking this picture. Wesley & Brock slept for 3 1/2 hours that day. Super sweet.

Love the face!

Any guesses to what Lynzy likes to eat?

Chocolate Doughnuts!
